This past week-end (Saturday July 14, 2007) Florin finished another race of Alberta Ultra Series, in Edmonton – Fast Trax Ultra. This was the first edition of this race and it gathered at the start line about 60 runners, but some of them are the top Canadian runners. Jack Cook, Darren Froese and Richard Webb, all participants in this race, were just named to the 2007 World Championship 100km Team to compete in the Netherlands in September. (Go Canada Go!)Fast Trax Ultra has three sections: 50k, 50 miles and 100k. Florin participated in the 50k one. The race was very well organized as only a “connoisseur” can do it, thanks to Jack Cook and his team who managed to put together an excellent event: the ice cold towels, the cold water tub for too hot legs, the music and announcements at the finish line were just few of the touches a runner can appreciate. The weather was very good but all the runners (and support teams) would have appreciated some clouds or fewer degrees than 33C. Anyway it was a great day in Gold Bar Park - on the North Saskatchewan River. THE START AT 6 AM
