Mount Lawerence Grassi is near Ha Ling Peak, at 8.6 km from Canmore, on Spray Lake Road. The mountain was named in the honor of a miner and guide that lived in Canmore and built some well appreciate trails in the wilderness.

Being in November, the path and the rocks were covered with knee-deep snow. The section we hiked through the forest was easy and we were protected against the cold wind.

As soon as we arrived in the alpine area we took a break and we replenished our “batteries”. We dressed appropriately for the wind gusts, which were sweeping away the snow.

On a clear day, the route does not have major challenges, being straight upward. The top is visible on the right side of the picture.

Reaching the ridge, we have noticed that the last few meters to the top required the climb of a bolder, which was packed with ice and snow. We have decided that such an enterprise is risky and we stopped there. We turned around not before taking some memories on photo camera.

Little, Middle and Big Sister.

We are getting closer and closer to the road and the spot where we left the car.

It was a nice trip and an introduction to Canadian winter.
