Mount Hoffman is located in Yosemite National Park, California, and the access is from Tioga Road. Approximately after 3 km in the forest shadow, the road leads to May Lake (2543 m altitude), where if you are lucky you may encounter a bear.

The trail follows the lake contour and then steadily gains altitude.

From here on the vegetation disappear and different peaks become visible.

The trail is signalized with cairns. From the top, I was able to recognize the Half Dome, where I stood the day before. A marmot revealed itself among some boulders, maybe because it was accustomed with tourists. I recorded on the video camera the surroundings. Following the same trail, I returned to Amy lake, where Dana was waiting for me. The top is accessible in the winter season too, but snowshoes are recommended.

A short movie of the ascent.
